Music of cities, music of the soul, music of the universe. You can and should talk about music, but it's best to listen and hear it.
Today I communicate with talented and modern, musical and goal-seeing people. The organizers and participants of the musical group "Microvision" are Alexander "Bionikl" Kashirin and Konstantin "K-One" Merenkov. What do we know about them?
The first acquaintance of the future artists took place in 2002, after which communication continued on the wave of common interests in a number of areas of sound art.
Inspired by 2010 by the work of famous and unknown artists (including the names "Aphex Twin", "TrentemOller", "Plastikman", "Depeche Mode"), the band "Microvision" settled on the styles "Idm", "Minimal Techno", "Deep Techno".

- Congratulations on a successful start! I suppose a lot of work has been done. Are you satisfied with the current results?
[Alexander Kashirin:] - Thank you for your congratulations! We are happy with the results, although the start turned out to be a little different from what we intended it to be. However, this is not very important: whatever happens is for the best.
[Konstantin Merenkov:] - Yes, indeed, we got off to a low start. However, at least, we managed to fulfill some ideas, and then it will be better (he smiles).
- As far as I understand, the style of the band "Microvision" does not imply touring and active fan worship. Who do you consider "your" audience?
[Alexander Kashirin:] - I don't think projects like ours have a fan in the full sense of the term at all. We're not "popstars" - there are just a few people who like this kind of music. Connoisseurs, so to speak.
- To paraphrase a well-known saying, I can say that fans are not chosen.
[Konstantin Merenkov:] - Yes, tours and fans are the lot of pop and rock "stars", and some "pop" DJs (he smiles). We are not in danger of that. If there is an audience, it will be people who understand a lot about electronic music.
- Great music conveys the mood, masterpieces enliven the images. Joint creativity obliges be patient and be able to find a compromise. How long does it take to create a single release and are the roles assigned during recording?
[Alexander Kashirin:] - Of course, when working together, we have to find a compromise, but we don't focus too much on this.
- Each of us has our own vision of such music, which is why the material in our releases is so diverse.
- It is very difficult to give an exact figure of how long it takes to create a single release for several reasons. First, everyone is engaged in music in their free time from everyday affairs, and sometimes it can be very difficult to find this very time for their favorite activity.
- The second reason, and the main one, in my opinion, is that we initially did not set out to sit down and write a release, we just write, experiment, make developments, share these developments, and then decide what needs to be completed, what to remove, and in what form to present it to the listener.
[Konstantin Merenkov:] - It takes different time to create releases.
- For example, I can write a finished track in one "sitting" (2-3 hours), and some have to be "polished" for weeks.
- We listen to the work, add something, replace it - and we achieve a compromise. Patience and hard work will wear everything out (he smiles).
- The description of your musical band on the social network is completely in English, the presentation is on the Baltic portal. Does the "Microvision" have any direct competitors today?
[Alexander Kashirin:] - In my opinion, the word "competition" is a little inappropriate here, we prefer to call it "colleagues in the shop."
[Konstantin Merenkov:] - There is no competition in music, there is competition in business. There is collaboration in music.
- How much understanding do you find among acquaintances and friends while doing ordinary things? Are you doing well in spite of it or because of it?
[Alexander Kashirin:] - We are being supported, and so far everything is working out.
[Konstantin Merenkov:] - As with all novice musicians, friends and acquaintances first evaluate creativity. They approve. They understand perfectly well that music is our hobby, and everyday work is a separate "vegetable garden" (he smiles).
- What are the priorities in creative activity? Are there any criteria that will make it clear that a dream has come true?
[Alexander Kashirin:] - We don't set any selfish goals, we just do what we love - we share our music with people and want as many people as possible to hear it, who will appreciate it good.
- As far as I understand, the "Microvision" is a non-profit project, which is rare nowadays. Are you planning to experiment with texts in new releases?
[Alexander Kashirin:] - Yes, "Microvision" is an absolutely non-commercial project. Maybe in the future we will also experiment with vocals, but this will be a completely different project, and it's too early to guess what it will be like.
